LAMMA 2012: TFA AND NATWEST JOIN FORCES TO HELP FARM TENANTS

The Tenant Farmers Association and NatWest are working together to develop specific services for farm tenants.

Speaking before this year’s LAMMA event in Newark, TFA National Chairman Jeremy Walker said “The TFA is delighted to be working with NatWest and we will be starting with a roadshow of meetings throughout the country focusing on how farm tenants can steer their businesses through the volatile times that we are currently experiencing. Whether it’s CAP reform, commodity markets, Agri-environment schemes, planning, rents or tenancy succession, speakers from NatWest and the TFA’s panel of recommended professionals will provide important insights and clear guidance on how to respond”.

"The joint meetings, which are open for all with an interest in tenant farming to attend, represent the start of an ongoing dialogue with NatWest about how it can develop services to better assist the tenanted sector of agriculture in the future," said Mr Walker.

Ian Burrow, NatWest’s Head of Agriculture and Renewable Energy said “These will be important sessions. There are a number of issues facing tenant farmers at the moment, so the chance to meet and listen to so many will be of benefit. I will be joined at the meetings by my local agriculture managers who understand their local markets so we hope to make a difference and build on this relationship with the TFA.”
